Galahs are widespread across Australia, having enjoyed the opening up of the inland to cropping & grazing. Water &/or grain was thus readily available all year round. An underated bird due to it's familiarity. This painting depicts the West Australian type (they have a bluish/grey eye ring, with those from the east being pink/red). Sitting on Eucalyptus wandoo, a favourite nesting tree.
